5 Tips For Keeping Your Hair Healthy

Blog

In this day and age, it can be difficult to maintain a healthy head of hair. If you frequently straighten your locks or change your hair color at least every couple of months, your hair might not be as lustrous as you want it to be. However, if you are willing to change some of your habits, you can get your tresses looking healthy again.

1. Do not Use Heat Styling Tools As Frequently

Heating styling tools like straighteners and curling irons might give your hair the style you want, but they can dry out and damage your locks over time. To keep your hair as healthy as possible, try to only use the heat styling tools on special occasions.

2. Resist the Urge to Shampoo Every Day

Hair is not meant to be washed every day. Shampooing your hair too frequently can strip it of its natural oils, making it more brittle. Try to wash your hair every other day. If you can, see if you can go even longer between washes.

If your locks start to look greasy, you can sprinkle some dry shampoo on them.

3. Be Careful When Towel Drying Your Hair

When drying your hair with a towel, be extra gentle. Rubbing and tugging on your hair with a towel can irritate the hair cuticle, resulting in frizz and damage. Instead, gently pat your hair down.

4. Get Regular Trims

Even if you are trying to grow your hair out, you should still get it trimmed at least every six to eight weeks. If you go too long between haircuts, the ends will just keep splitting, resulting in further damage to your hair. If you want to grow your tresses longer, just ask your hair stylist to take a half an inch off.

5. Give It a Deep Conditioning Treatment

If your hair has been feeling a little dry lately, it can definitely use a deep conditioning treatment. It contains nutrients that are beneficial for your hair and will make it strong and healthy again. Leave the conditioning treatment on your hair for about 10 to 15 minutes before washing it off. Aim to do a deep conditioning treatment about once a week.

If you follow these useful tips, you can improve the health of your hair and feel more self-confident. If you need additional pointers on taking care of your tresses, do not hesitate to ask your hair stylist. For more information, contact a company like Pepper Hair Haus.

mothers need a spa day

I am the mother of four kids under the age of eight. I love my kids dearly, but they do run me ragged at times. By the end of the day, I am worn out and ready for bed. Once a month I reward myself for all of my hard work by going to the spa for a few hours. I get a massage, get my hair styled and get my nails done. Visiting a spa regularly can be a rejuvenating, healthy experience. Find out how beneficial this treatment is for a hardworking mother like me here on my blog.
